What is a search firm?
Known variously as Search or Executive Search Firms, Recruiters or Headhunters, a search firm is an employer-engaged firm who seeks to place skilled, qualified professionals with their clients’ firms on a permanent, full-time basis. Search firms may be either retained or contingent, or a combination of both, and their fees are typically paid for by the employers by which they are hired. Overly simplified, recruiting is most often conducted by “going in” to other companies who have like-talented employees, seeking out the most highly qualified, enticing them to consider other opportunities (hence the name “headhunter”) and then introducing one or more of them to their clients. The recruiter remains involved throughout the entire hiring process and is often a key consultant to his or her client, including negotiating the compensation package.
What the search firm is NOT, is an employment agency. Its loyalty is to its clients and not the individual candidates it introduces; job applicants should understand that its relationship with its clients is based on introducing only highly qualified, stable candidates with proven track records and stability and whose training, skills and experience will result in a quantifiable ROI for the employer. Filling critical vacancies can be a time consuming process of extensive person-hours spent sifting through résumés and interviewing unqualified candidates. Financial Pro Solutions, is an engaged executive search firm. We specialize in finding and attracting top "off-market" financial talent who are capable of doing the job, have strong work ethics and who will fit comfortably into your culture. Making a career move can be a life-changing event. Hiring the right person starts with finding the right person. Both decisions should be a win-win situation. Let us help you make sure it does. |
